Battery Light Flickers On/off Most Of The Time

HELLO EVERYONE, HAS ANYONE EVER HAD THE BATTERY LIGHT FLICKER IN THE DASH? MY BATTERY LIGHT FLICKERS AND WILL STAY ON AT TIMES THEN GO OFF. THE VOLTAGE GAUGE NEVER MOVES WHEN THIS HAPPENS. SOMETIMES THE LIGHT WILL STAY ON FOR 10 MINUTES AND OTHER TIMES JUST FLICKER ON THEN GO OFF. EVEN TO MAKE IT MORE COMPLICATED I THINK IT'S WORSE WHEN THE WEATHER OUSIDE IS 40 OR WARMER. SOME SAY TO TAKE TO THE DEALER, SOME SAY IT'S A DASH CLUSTER PROBLEM AND DON'T CHANGE THE ALTERNATOR. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS. ANY THOUGHTS? THANKS FOR READING.. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. IF NOTHING ELSE I'LL TAKE TO THE DEALER IN JAN 09..

You've got a wiring problem somewhere. It could simply be a loose connection at the battery or alternator, or a short somewhere with two wires rubbing together. You will need to check all of your wiring over to see if you can find the problem.
