I am looking into buying a set of 957's for my stock tahoe 4dr. they are 17x9 with -12mm offset. Will they fit? What size tires would I have to get to stay speedo correct? Thanks

What size tire and wheel do you currenly have? What is the backspace or offset of your current wheel?

They probably will fit but they will stick out farther.

The backspace on the wheels you mention is 4.5"

I have the stock 16x7 rims. 245/75/16. Was told by town fair tire the backspace was 5". I haven't measured them. Also was told that the 957 was for a lifted tahoe only. I was telling him that the offset doesn't mean much compaired to the backspacing. Told him that all you need is the rim size rim width and the backspacing. He told me it depends on the offset. I left with a headache. Just went there for a price on the rim. My mistake.

A negative offset wheel will stick out a country mile and really limit how big the tires can be... I've seen it done on lifted trucks but the look is rather... UH... redneck custom. I'd make sure before I bought.

If your wheels are 7" and have 5" backspace and the new wheels will be 9" with 4.5" backspacing they will stick out 2.5 more than your current set-up. You may want to look into a different size or wheel.

As Jim said be sure about the look and fit before you pull the trigger.

Thanks for the help. I decided to look into the stock silverado rims, maybe 04 style. For less then new rims and tires I can get the stock rims and tires.
