MAF sensors

So, I was just wondering if anybody has replaced the stock MAF sensor on their truck with an aftermarket MAF?  I have heard they are supposed to make a noticeable difference, but never know if to believe these claims.  Obviously I don't need one for my current truck, but would like to have some knowledge about this for further down the line.

Afterall, the Duramax is the first diesel in a pickup to have a MAF sensor.

I've heard some people have removed the MAF altogether and have noticed improvement in power. But I don't know what that does to your computer or injector response.

Remove the MAF? I doubt it would run at all.

I know on Trans AMs and Z28s the Granitelli MAFs make a noticable improvment and they do make them for the trucks. Also a lot of guys port the stock MAF and get some improvement in horsepower.

Its good to know that they actually make a noticeable difference.  Sometimes its hard to tell if a product will actually work, or if it is all hype.
