What 5300 Vortec mods are available?

I test drove a Suburban today with the 5300 Vortec engine.  In my opinion, it needs an additional 75-100 horsepower.

 

What engine mods are available?  Are there any good supercharger or turbo kits available?

theres everything available for them,  cold air intake, whipple, magnacharger, throttle body spacer, ngk plugs, 8mm wires, nos, electric fan, headers, cat back exhaust..

 

you can easily squeeze out more than 100hp   cuz it's been done  ;)   lol

I haven't seen or heard of any turbo kits out,  the Vortechs really work the best off of chargers especially the whipple ones.

Who sells Whipples?  I know Kenne-Bell used to.  But didn't they lose the rights to sell Whipples?  Now they're selling Autorotor or something like that, right?

I spoke with this cat named Steve from truckperformance.com about superchargers.  Here's the low-down:

 

Vortech S-trim, 7psi, +106hp and +95ft-lbs, $3385

Whipple, ?psi, +118hp, +162ft-lbs, $3750

There are many products available for the 5.3 (CNC heads, cam upgrades, inductions, headers, catbacks, torque converters, superchargers ect...). I had a 5.3 extended cab '99 Silverado with basic inductuon and exhaust mods along with a set of CNC heads. It was very responsive and towed nice too. Took it for a few trips down the 1/4 and had a best ET of 15.4 @ 89 (not bad for an extended cab). I'm running a Magnecharger on my 6.0 Suburban and will be putting a Kenne Bell on the 8.1 Suburban when it arrives. Can never have to much horsepower I deal with alot of performance parts so let me know if you have any questions that I can help you with.
