Recently my hvac blower moter has been squeeking. :uhoh: Is there any way to make this stop?(greasing/any other type of lubracation) it works fine but it is realy annoying.

If any one els has had this problem and knows how to fix it please respond.

If you're positive it's the motor - that is, the squeak changes pitch (or goes away) at different speed settings, then your best bet is to replace the blower motor. Mine didn't squeak, but one day it just didn't want to spin up. It would kick in now and then (usually a bump jolted it loose).

Those motors are intended to be sealed for life. No way to lube them up that I have ever seen.

Replace it. It's easily done on your Sonoma.

How dose one replace this blower moter? :hitit:

From what I remember on a 1988 S-10 Blazer......

Motor is located on passenger side firewall, under the hood, almost against the fender. With the motor running you can find it with no problem. There is an electrical connector that must be removed. May be a small rubber tube running from the side of the motor to the airbox. Carefully remove. You'll re-attach this to the new motor. There will be several screws or bolts holding motor into the airbox. Probably at least 4. Again I'm not familiar with your year truck. They may be easy to see and get to or they may be a bit more challenging to remove. You should spot a couple of them with no problem. Remove these and pull motor straight out. There will be a squirrel cage blower on the shaft. If your new motor comes with one, then you can discard the motor and blower cage. If you need to re-use the blower cage. Look at it and make sure it is in good shape. Should be held on with a nut or maybe a pushclip. At this time you can look into the blower box and see if you need to clean leaves and other crap out.

Install the new motor by reversing the steps.

Hope fully this makes sense.... I'm about half asleep. :D

Here are a couple of pics for a 1998 GMC jimmy
