E85 Classic Silverado 5.3l

I have a 2007 Silverado Classic with the 5.3 Flex Fuel. I want to put a LS1 Hot Cam or Lunati cam in my pickup. Im not really wanting more power but I do want a rough idle. I have been told by Scoggin Dickey that my pickup has variable valve timing and I will need to buy a new set of lifters before I do anything. I then did some research and i have found that my 5.3 is no different than the LM7, therefore I dont need a new set of anything. By the way the lifter set is 1200 bucks, now i need the correct answer, can anyone help??

Don't know much about cams but you DO NOT have VVT or AFM. Only the new 6.0 and 6.2 Gen IV motors have VVT and only the Gen IV 5.3 and 6.0 have AFM. Can't imagine why you'd need new lifters.
