95 5.7l Coolant Leak

have the ultra violet dye going into the system in a moment, but thought I'd post to see if this leak is a known prob with a known fix as well.

 

leak is causing fluid to drip down the trans dipstick tube which seems like a very strange place to have it end up. initial thought is that it's coming out of the passenger side of the intake manifold and being blown back by the fan.

 

any heater hoses in that area that could be cracked/leaking?

due to the angle the engine sits, any leak from the intake could end up behind the engine, there is a fitting for the heater that is located passenger front that is common to leak.....Stump

On the 350, there should be a fitting on the pass side but toward the back of the manifold, feeds from the heater box area of the firewall. I had suspected that is where I was losing coolant and when I had the motor rebuilt, that dastardly fitting was replaced. According to the mechanic, he was soo excited he got it out of the manifold in one piece... you may also be blowing some out of the freeze plug hole on the block next to the starter.
