Thank God For Tpms

On the way into work today, I picked up a bolt in my tire while travelling down the interstate. The TPMS warned me and I was able to watch the pressure to try to make it to an exit. Unfortunately, lost air too quickly and had to pull over in the shoulder. If it was not for the system, probably would have not noticed until I ruined the rim or worse.

Below are pics of the culprit. As a side note, it takes a lot of work to get to the spare out on this thing. Normally I would not mind, but a pain in the *ss when it's cold and in my business clothes.

I had a similar scenario with my truck last winter. It was very nice knowing ahead of time that something was about to go down. $200 for a tire is bad enough, there's no reason to toss in a wheel or my life to boot.

I had a similar run in with a welding-rod recently.. Didn't have to pull over, but it let me know something was up so I could get it checked out and fixed.

I haven't had anything like an emergency but I did have TPMS alert me of a slow L/R tire leak when it got to 30psi. Pretty cool stuff. I dispatched my wife to Discount tire and it was fixed by the time she was scheduled to start dinner. She even had time to vacuum.

I didn't even miss a single down of the game.

What a girl.
