Has anyone purchased a bedrug through GM Accessories?? If so, do you like it??

Don't know where they bought them but several folks in here have them and like them a lot. Wingnut has one in Fred.

Yup. I didn't buy it through GM. I bought a 5 year old used one from a guy in North Carolina.

It's saved my knees countless bumps and bruises while climbing around back there these last couple of weeks alone (I've been moving, so I've spent a ton of time climbing in and out of there).

I love the thing. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

they are very nice...

and if you don't want to spend a lot of $$$$ you can now buy a 5x8 sheet of it and cut it out to your box..

you can also buy the pre-cut custom formed piece from bedrug themselves that contours to the bottom of your box..

or you can buy the whole thing sides and everything... they have a lot of choices now..

Wow...I didn't know all that.

I think a Bedrug bed mat would do me fine.

I think I saw something a while back where they had a Bedrug on the bottom, and plastic (like a drop-in) on the sides (vertical parts) of the bed.

So what would be the advantages/disadvantages for a bedrug vs. liner? Im assuming the rugs are water resistant, and you could remove them to steam clean or pressure wash if you got mud/oil/etc on them?

Bedrug is just held in with a lot of velcro...It comes right out. Not that you'd really need to. I hit mine with the pressure washer at the car wash when it needs it. And it's waterproof. Same as a liner. Oil, mud, etc don't stain or stick to either (Bedrug is a plastic fiber so it won't rot or mildew OR stain) So that stuff is all about even. I've had oil leaking motors and transmissions on my Bedrug as well as an extremely muddy ATV on many occasions...Washes right out. Advantage = neither.

When it comes time to get rid of the truck, you don't want to pull a liner out because it WILL rub through the paint in spots. Not as badly as some would have you believe, but it does do it. Plus, you can't sell it. Hell, you can hardly GIVE away a used liner. Bedrug holds a big plus here. A used one can sell for well over $150, even without the velcro. And the bed doesn't look like crap when it comes out. Advantage = Bedrug.

Protecting the bed itself from major dents? Well that's obviously going to be an advantage of the liner, although the Bedrug is no slacker. I don't do any heavy hauling of rocks, brick or loads of dirt, so that part didn't matter. Advantage = liner.

You really need to consider what your needs are here. I've got a shell on mine, so it's all enclosed and I'm not concerned about weather (I honestly don't know how well they hold up over time when always exposed, I've only taken the shell off for limited amounts of time). What do you haul the most? If it's something like dirt, gravel or rock, you don't want the Bedrug. Also...Some folks like how stuff WILL slide on a liner. Makes it easier to move around. Personally, I like how sh*t sticks to the Bedrug.

Just some food for thought.

Momentary thread derail...

Hey Mike.

You sell your house? Where did you move to?

I just picked up a bed rug a couple of weeks ago instead of a line x after talking to several people who have had both. I really like it so far. I have heard of people filling their beds with mulch on top of the rug and then they just power wash it off, no stains. Also, much cheaper option than the line x at least.

Thanks, I won't be getting a plastic liner, always wanted a spray-in liner and curious about the bedrug. I wonder about how it will look over time, fade-staining and what not. My bed will not have a cover, and it may see some oil/fluids but if so it would be rare. . .the worst it would see regularly is some mud/dirt from the atv.

Do you have any high quality pics?

Thats my decision right now; spray-in liner vs. bedrug. Do you have any good pics of yours? If you don't mind, how much $ and from where?

I don't have any good pics as of now but give me this afternoon and I will get some. Been having really crummy weather around these parts for getting some quality pics. My rug cost about $400 installed but I believe it is a pretty easy self install I just don't have a garage to do it in. I got it from a local off road center called pickups-plus. About the fading from what i have heard there is a better chance of the spray in fading than the rug. But I havent seen that case yet.
