Push Button 4x4

alright this is the first truck ive owned with push button 4x4..

 

anyways every time i switch i put it in N and hit the button and see the light flash.

 

but sometimes the only flash i get is when i push it as soon as i leave off the button it will not light up for the remainder of the time its in 4x4... same thing with 2wd.. but the lights do works since they flash while going into 2x4 / 4x4...

 

could this just be a bad switch? or am i doing something wrong? it has never not put it into 4x4 / 2x4 it always works the lights just don't stay on while its in either of them.. so sometimes i don't know what im in..

it may not work putting the trans in N, try it in D , it may need input movement to engage everthing.
