"The bracket is made out of a piece of 1"x1"x1/8" angle iron and a piece of 1"x1/8" flat iron. It bolts on to the two rearmost fender bolts. As for the plastic cover, I bought a second one (they cost about $15), and carefully cut the slot with my die grinder. "

 

"The bracket is actually quite stout, as I havent had any problems with it yet. I origionally made this bracket for my '99 Silverado, and it's had a 3' Fire Stick stuck in it for probably 40,000 miles. "
