Cold Start Hesitation

Has anyone noticed a hesistation at cold start up on their GMT900? Just this winter mine has started having what I would consider a rough start.

I notice it anytime the temp is below about 50 or so. I will start the truck and it will fire up like normal, then hesitate (like it missed or something) and finally it will rev up to the "cold" idle. Is this normal? :uhoh: I've been accused of being to critical with the truck but it bugs me.

I asked my dealer and they said it is due to carbon buildup and that an Induction Service for $134 will fix it. My truck has ~19000 miles and I have never had any engine problems before (besides the cold belt chirp which is now fixed.) I've just ran a can of SEAFOAM through it and that didn't help any. What do you guys think?

I know cold weather is an issue at start-up with most vehicles running E85, I'm guessing that's your problem. Are you running E85 in your FF truck? If so, try adding a few gallons of regular gasoline.

That is the thing, I have Never ran E85 in my truck... I'm tired of getting BS answers from the dealer. Ugh

This probably isn't going to be the popular suggestion, but maybe leave your truck with the dealer overnight so they can see/hear what you're talking about when starting it cold early in the morning?
