Is there a list of common faults one can expect too have with a particular vehicle?

I have a Canadian 2006 GMC 2500HD auto, 6.0 litre 4x4.

I already bought a new style intermediate steering shaft and just found out i can expect the transfer case too start leaking and cost 2500 bucks too fix, is there anything else I can look forward too???

I don't know... but you can of course search this forum, mentioning your truck make and year model in the search, and see what comes up.

 

Your transfer case won't cost 2500 dollars to repair unless you let it run out of fluid and run it dry. If it is a concern, check for a shop in your area that will go inside the case and make a modification that will prevent this from happening. That will be a lot cheaper than a transfer case rebuild.

 

In the meantime, just check the fluid level in the transfer case often, and watch your driveway for leaks.
