Noticed a dime sized drip of oil on garage floor. It is on the drivers side in front of the front wheel. Any idea what this could be. Truck runs fine. Oil level is fine too. Any ideas?

Thanks,

There's also a vent line from the transfercase that runs up to the engine compartment near the front left wheel. It's just a little hose and has a little plastic end on it. Mine started spitting transfercase oil (ATF) out if it after I had the TC rebuilt. I'm guessing it was overfilled. I haven't checked the level yet, because I'm thinking it'll spit fluid out until it seeks a level, ...and I'm lazy.

If you ID the type of fluid by smelling, tasting, whatever, it'll be easier to determine the source.

Just kiddin on the tasting.

I'd bet one of the more common leaks is the front pinion seal in a 4wd since the exhaust is close and the seal dries out. But it is behind the front tire.

OOOOPs, I forgot. The power steering hoses start leaking on all thes trucks eventually. I've changed my hoses on the 99 once and they're leaking at the swages again. They are in front of the axle as well.
