Body Mount Bushings

Alright well my truck was getting worked on this week (get it back 2 marro) but i bought new body bolts since the ones holding the nerf bars rusted in the middle to about half of the original bolt size.. although these were not factory bolts and were obviously from the nerf bar company im guessing thats why there were so bad....

 

but 2 of my rubber bushings are bad.. between bolt and mount

 

i was looking at Energy Suspensions full body mount bushing set that comes with everything. (between cab and frame and between frame and bolt) its a 12 peice kit and its $85

 

this is Polyurathane but will it be that much better than just buying OE rubber mounts? on there website it said it gives it a better ride, less noise..

 

What do you think i have never bought any of that polyurathane stuff before is it really that good?

I bet you wouldn't be able to tell the difference in body mount bushings if you compared them to a new 1997 Sierra.

 

But I bet it helps quite a bit in your ride if your current ones are shot. You really can't go wrong upgrading the bushings, and if you can get them ALL for $85, I'd say go for it. Unless you're on a tight budget and can save $40 by going OEM or something.

I put a set of energy suspension body mounts on my truck once. They stayed on there (1) one week. Rode like a log wagon. You could feel every little bump in the road. Never again.

i suppose ill just get the rubber ones.. would you get top and bottom or just the bottom ones which are the ones that are broke?

I just replaced the bottom ones. The top ones were solid. The bottom ones rust and the rubber separates. The bottoms are super easy to change. The top ones, not so easy.
