Flush Scan Gauge Install

Hey there I have a scan gauge in my 04 gmc I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on any custom installs. My first idea was to fab a stainless plate from the bottom of my dash to the floor but with my man 4x4 there I cannot make it work. I was trying to get my scan gauge installed and room for 3 toggles and led lights. Any ideas or pics would really help. I do not like the idea of the mirror install. a pic of a truck with the same setup minus the 4x4 shifter.

The ashtray or that blank just below the center vent looks promising. On my 99, I put the trailer brake control in the ashtray spot.

I tried that blank spot but it was to much tucked away that i could not see it without bending my head down. not thats not a pic of my truck sorry i thought i explaind that. (a pic of a truck with the same setup minus the 4x4 shifter.)

I also have a scangauge II and looking for a good way to install it. Right now I just have it stuck up my by dash next to the A-piller. I really like the location for the good access it gives me.

One though I have is to get a A-piller pod for one of the Edge products (or something like that) and mod it fit the smaller scangaugeII.

Just my though so far. I will post pics when I ever get around to it.

used Scangauge for yrs, never could find a decent place for it. Too bulky to fit into tight places, too small a screen to put far away. Also, it destracts from driving, if it's not "in your face" positioned.

Next to pillar A was the best I could do for Silvie. Dash cover is large enough to host it without interfering with windshiled view.

Oh, and speaking of windshields - I drive now with sunvisor scootted over to the upper side roof, above the window edge. It sticks out some, as it won't go flush with the roof, but even with my 6'5'' is no bother. Why have i done it, stupid? As it opened about an inch of upper windshield view.

Pardon my ignorance, but what functions would you use while driving that necessitates viewing while driving?

I bought my scanguage from the same place that sells the blend mount and it works great. I have had it on there for about the last two years and it places it perfectly so I can see all the stuff that I need. I got the guage and mount as a combo and they had a sale at the time.

I like to keep a look at the trans temp mpg and oil temp while towing. Last summer I was towing my boat like I did before i got the scan gauge. I relised if I run in 3rd rather then od my tran and oil is about 20 degrees cooler and there was only about one mpg differ. I like the a piller idea but then im still stuck with my toggle switches.
