2002 Tahoe Rough Idle

I have a 2002 tahoe 4x4 ls 5.3l with a little over 100k miles on it, start it first thing in the morning and it runs fine, drive about 15 minutes to school with no stops come to the first stop light and it idles super rough, sometimes I start it and it is throwing a code, other times it doesnt and sometimes the ses light is flashing.

 

any ideas, thoughts, comments?

Fuel pressure regulator leaking, and dumping raw fuel into vacuum lines, causing crappy idle.

i had a similar problem and after doing some searches on this forum i checked my MAF. I had KN oil type filter and the oil was getting into the MAF(from over oiling the filter, my fault) causing some of the same conditions you described....went to the local auto store and bought some MAF cleaner in an aerosal can and the problems went away. Hope you get it figured out.

I have an 02' LT and that's exactly what was causing my 5.3 to idle rough.
