DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., (March 11, 2001) – If there was any doubt in the minds of the competition that Mat Mladin was the man to beat in Sunday’s 60th annual Daytona 200 by Arai, those doubts were soon diminished.

Mladin, the two-time defending AMA Superbike champion, first set a new track record in his qualifying run to win the pole for the Superbike classic on Thursday, then the Australian rider delivered a dominating performance on his way to his second consecutive Daytona 200 By Arai victory on Sunday aboard the No. 1 Yoshimura Suzuki GSXR750.

Mat's the MAN!!!! I almost started racing GP a couple of times. But every time I was ready to signup for the driver's school to get my card I would be at a race where someone would bite it big time right in front of where I was watching from and I would rethink it. I saw a guy drop it on a straight, now sure how. He stood up to run to the side and got hit by the bike behind him who was still doing about 80.

Hig4s,

What do you ride???  I'm big into sport bikes but I opted for a sport touring bike because it's about 400 miles to the places where I like to ride!!!   I'm on the road for 3-8 days in order to burn up a set of tires!!!

Have you ever been up to Suches in Northern GA??? I try to get there at least once a year!!!

Actually I sold all my bikes about 7 years ago. My last street bike was an 88 750 Ninja. I'm looking into buying another dirt bike now that I have a truck again, but I'm afraid due to financial considerations a street bike may be a long way down the road. Especially since if I go back to street bikes I want a BMW.
