Gauge Cluster Lens Rattle

Recommended Posts

I have had an annoying rattle in my truck now for a year and it only happens when its real cold out. It goes away as the truck warms up. It is only affected by the vibration of the motor in lower rpms. I found if I push on the top part of the cluster lens it goes away. I think its maybe the glue or whatever they used. Its weird because both this cluster and the old cluster did the same thing. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks again

Upon further inspection, I found that when I put pressure on the top of the cluster the noise goes away. Its not the lens. Is there something behind the cluster that could cause the noise? Thanks again

I have the exact same problem and have found, just like you, when I press on the top that the noise ceases. I believe that it is not where the plastic is glued, but the part that clips together or that when it gets cold the top of the lens is just far enough way that it creates a noise when it hits the dash surround. I haven't had a chance yet, but I am going to use some string and try to tighten the areas that clip together and see if that works.
