GM has just disbanded its High Performance Vehicle Operations, putting all high-performance projects on an indefinite hold. This means no more new "SS" Chevys, V8 Colorado and V-series Cadillacs. According to a report from Automotive News, there are no plans for high-performance versions of any of the company's upcoming cars. It doesn't stop current vehicles from getting high-performance variants — so rest assured all of you out there looking to buy a Camaro SS (Wert).

The V8 Colorado will still be made, the engineering is already done and tooling is in place. In fact I think they already are in production.

 

All this is saying is no NEW models will be engineered by a dedicated performance division. Current models will still be produced and finish out their planned cycles.
