Is The 2009 Center Console Different?

I just found this photo on Autoblog Green from when they tested the new Silverado Hybrid. Note the section just ahead of the cup holders. Wasn't sure if this is a change across all of the models or if the hybrids had a special reason to have the change

Thats the same identical console thats in my '07 LT2 with BOSE.

 

If you don't have the BOSE speaker system the section in the very front is deeper.

Ah that must be it. I don't have the Bose. Guess that is where they are hiding the amp. Thought it may have been some fancy new console management addon for 09.

Too bad the price of the separate pieces from GM is around $900...and they don't offer it as an assembly. The only ones that ever seem to show up on ebay are the shorter, LTZ/SLT style.

In my truck i am looking at putting in a stealth box from JL audio, but they say it won't fit in the console with the deep front section (the one that I have). Do you know if GM makes different insert options for the front part of this console. I would like one without such a deep pocket so that the sub woofer will fit. Thanks

Wow I just looked at the picture, (I hadn't looked at it yet) It pretty much answered my question. If the entire front part of that center console would fit where my cup holders and deep pocket are I think that the sub would fit. Does anyone know if it will fit? Also, how does a guy find a part number for it?

I have the cup holder portion, what I'm looking to get rid of is the deep pocket that is in the very front of the console, but maybe we are talking about different things do you have a pic?
