Help: Need Advice To Ship Oem Rims

Recommended Posts

I am about to purchase a set of OEM 20" rims, the problem is the shipper tried to get a quote from FedEx and they said they are unsure if they can ship them.

Do you guys have any ideas on the best way to ship 4 OEM 20" rims from Raleigh, NC to Middletown, PA (or close to that area). I am trying to keep the shipping cost down.

Thanks - Steve

I just used https://www.uship.com/login.aspx to ship some stuff

It's a site where you list what needs to be shipped, starting and ending points and shippers bid for your business.I did a 10 day listing and ended up paying half of what I was quoted by Fed-Ex and UPS. Plus they come to pick your stuff up.

Another option might be http://www.shipgreyhound.com/ but you have to drop the parts off and they need to be picked up at the other end but I've found them cheaper too.

Thanks I will have to look into them.

I was thinking of putting an AD on Craigs List to see if anyone would reach out to bid on the rights to ship them up.

Any thoughts?

I used DHL back in the fall to ship 4 20's, with tires mounted, from Louisiana to Pennsylvania. Of course, they're not shipping domestic anymore. FedEx and UPS were also willing to ship them, but DHL was cheapest.

The guy I bought the rims from cut out cardboard discs to cover each rim face and then wrapped each wheel/tire in shrink-wrap. They affixed the shipping labels right to each wrapped wheel. The cost was about $200 to ship all four. They arrived in perfect condition...

See if there is a local "The UPS Store"

I've used them on wheels and seats.

About how much did you spend at the UPS store on average for 4 20" rims?

Thanks
