New Temp. Job

The textbook market is not really going spring to fall so back when we were first getting started me and my partner would get side jobs to help keep us afloat. Well now the company is stable and we don't have to but I still do it for extra spending money. For the most part I always worked for a security company that provided protection for Total Oil's rigs and offices in Africa and the Middle East. But I am getting to old for shoot outs with tribal people and babysitting VIP's. So I decided to get a job here in town, well I am going to be a salesman for the local Toyota dealer. I have always wanted to get to go to their technical classes and I finally will. I want to see how they rig their testing and such, I think this will be a interesting expirence. I will be back full time at the book store at the end of summer, so I have a few months to see how Toyota treats their employees and how they try to make themselves stand out from the crowd.

Wish me luck and I will fill you in on everything I learn.

Good luck there Leo with the new job and all you'll need to learn! At Toyota... Their looks should be interesting when you drive up in a Yukon. :flag: They'll probably try to get you into a 4Runner.

Today when I was there doing paperwork I parked in the employee lot, only three Toyotas out of twenty or so cars. Most were Nissans and Hondas.

Like I said I wouldnt drive a Toyota by choice, but I can sell anything. I just want some extra cash and to learn the insides and outs of the Toyota company. Any company that can sell junk to people

that dont know better with a smile on their face interest me.

This gives me a good idea! I wonder how many potential Toyoduh customers I could send to the GM dealer down the street before they figure it out and fire my ass?

There is alot of truth in that statement. All vehicles are "designed to fail". If they wanted, EVERY automaker could design and build a vehicle that could go a million+ miles before needing any major rebuilding.

Toyota makes good product. So does Honda, Nissan, Subaru. Building a good vehicle is not a US automaker exclusive. American or foreign, they can all produce good (and bad) vehicles. I agree that they could EASILY be designed to last longer.but every automaker wants that customer back in their showroom in 2 to 4 years.

I say good luck with the job. If a customer wants a Toyota, sell them one and take the money to the bank. If you don't, somebody else will.
