I'm going out on a limb here, but...

If the Owner/Founder/Admin of a web forum named GM-trucks.com posts a link to the home page, with something about a GM product, it might be an official statement...maybe?

Major bummer! This was going to be a sweet engine for the 1500's.

That is a shame, i was waiting to buy a chevy or GMC light duty 4.5. I thought GM needed all the help they could get in order to survive. Well i have some bad news for GM, after 40 years of buying GM autos, I am going to a foreign make. I sign up to Mahindra North America, they E-Mail me back and said l that as soon that the med size diesel pickup get in, they will set me up to test drive one .

:pimp: you actually want a POS like that? If you want a diesel pickup buy a 3/4 ton duramax . The mahindra pickup is the size of a ford ranger with a 2.2L 4cyl diesel

That REALLY sucks, I was looking forward to seeing a light duty diesel back as an option...but with all these bureaucrats at the EPA and other all-ruling government agencies with their heads so far up their asses making diesel fuel cost exactly as much more as you'd save in efficiency over a gasoline engine, and then imposing all those insanely stupid fees on the company and making them pass it on...it makes it pointless to get a more reliable, more useful engine for all that extra cost.

Currently the major problem is that they're not using a technology that's been around quite a while now, and that even GM is using...DIRECT INJECTION. The kind of power and efficiency we'd see from similar displacement truck engines would be wicked. Its an insane waste of time that they're still using port injection. To get the same power, they could use smaller engines that don't needlessly consume more fuel, take up more space, weigh as much, or have as much crap trying to keep emissions low! Any engineers present that want to take a whack at why they've not massively changed over to DI WAY before they had time to go bankrupt? The vortec engines are awesome, no doubt, but there's major room for improvement that couldn't possibly cost a significant amount more than they already do to produce. They should have done it when they changed over to the Generation IV Vortecs.

FWONking ugly aWONs truck. I'd take one to use strictly on my farm. I dont think it would be practicle for me to use that thing any where else. Let alone be seen in town with it.
