High Oil Pressure?

2004 Sierra 2500HD 6.0,I noticed my oil pressure gauge creeping up to 100% or 80psi on my last trip. It's usually 42 psi. How do I determine if it is a sensor or the gauge? or worse, real. Thanks Roy

I'd bet the sending unit is bad. You can check the output with a volt/ohm meter. Specs should be in a service manual.

I would wager your inst. cluster is going. Mine Pegged when it went.
