2500 Hoods

Ive been looking for a new truck the past few months and ive noticed that 2500's have differant hoods. i like how the sit higher and look beefier on the truck. Im just wonder why some hd's have them and others dont and if you could put the hd hood on a 1500? and responses would be appreciated. Newer to the truckin' world with a few questions

What years are you talking about? I know the taller hood on the early GMT800s wasn't put on the HDs until '01, and I don't think the '03-'04 HDs had different hoods than the half tons.

im looking at 01 and 02's. but i thought i saw a taller hood on some of the newer 05-07's? could be mistaken tho on that.

Yes, the 05 - 07 Classic HD's had the taller hood but, the 06 - 07 Classic 1/2 tons also had the taller hood.

thanks for the help. now do you know if you could put an 01-02 hd hood on a 1500? i dont think i can quite afford a 06 or newer... i just like how it beefs up the front end withour putting a huge grill guard on

I know guys that put hd hoods on tahoes so i guess it would work on a 1500.
