HI,

I was told by the mechanic that my truck shocks is leaking.. they said I have the " Bilstein sport package with front and rear air level suspension shock" They want $400 per shock.. Anyone know where I can get them.

I found some online but not sure if they are the right one.. I wont be using that mechanic again as I did not like their service.

They replace my stabilzer and some more front end parts and after 3 weeks, I took it back for the same noise.. they said the stabilizer broke...brand new one.

anyway is there any way I can get these shocks cheaper

thanks

here's any shock Bilstein ever made for your type of vehicles:

http://www.bilstein.com/mistore/ymm_produc...oreYMM=storeYMM

choose your fancy and then, google that shock. you'll easily find it for 30-40% less places else.

same time, I have bad news for you. I have replaced countless shocks on my cars. basically, it will never restore comfortable, tight drive. I think, unless you overhaul bushings in control arms and sway bars, it's a waste of money.

I had 2 Bilsteins put in the rear and 2 KYBs, expensive ones, in the front. month down the road - it's like it was never done.

HUH???

OP: I assume you mean you have Autoride. Do a search, you will find plenty of info.

If you truly do have Autoride (air controlled), I think you will find your options pretty narrow. It is going to cost a great deal to replace these units no matter where you find them.

If you find that you do not have Autoride, let us know and we can make some really good recommendations. KYB MonoMax, Bilstien etc.

I just went through replacing all four Shocks and replaced the Compressor on my 2002 Suburban 1500 4X4. Talk about empting my pockets and probably being ripped off by some peoples perspetive. I have the whole Autoride and rear leveling option on my vehicle. Initially I was told that my compressor was bad and that my rear shocks were dead. Funny thing about this whole thing was that I never got the warning message "Service Ride Control" on the dash until after I had all these parts replaced. I didn't go through a dealer, just a local autoshop. I just had it done this weekend and haven't had a chance to take it back so they can figure out what is wrong now. For the amount a money that I paid, they should be giving me money back to have to bring it back in now. LOL

Anyone know what would cause this message to come on after having all these parts replaced? Everything was replaced with OEM parts. (So I'm Told) They look the same on the vehicle at least. Although it's hard to see the compressor but it looks the same.

I didn't really want to change from having the Autoride as I like the feature and Hell, I did pay for it to begin with. I am the original owner of the vehicle. Have just over 105,000 miles on it.

I figured I'd ask here first so that I have some information when I go in to talk to them.
