Removing Factory Mirror Caps

What is the easiest way to remove the black textured mirror caps w/o breaking them? I'm getting some new mirrors caps tomorrow and I don't really wanna break any of the clips since I heard this can be a bastard. Any tips?

Unsnap the entire housing and then remove the upper cover afterward.

I have had mine off a couple of times and I have not snapped any tabs yet. Just be careful.

What do you mean the entire housing?

The first one I did i broke a tab .I just took it a little easier on the next one and didn't break any.

agree..... slip a small flathead and work it all the way around. It seems the tab on the underside closest to the body is the one that "sticks" the most and is often snapped. But who cares, cause its only going to sit in your garage with the rest of the stock parts you removed - that knowbody needs/wants anymore anyways.

whzt kind of buddy are you to sell them textured POS COVERS to your buddy. You should pay him to take them off your hands. LOL by the way what color are you putting on there? I put satin black on mine with the same door handles.
