Change In Bumpers On 08 And 09 Sierra & Compability

First i was wondering what the deal is with the whole cut out in the middle of the front bumper on the newer model sierra's?

 

Secondly i was wondering if anyone knew if the front bumpers from the 1500 sierra are interchangeable with either the denalli or the 2500 models?

 

They look the same, but when i call around trying to find a 1500 bumper i was bombarded with question as to which bumper (with or without hole), 1500 or denalli ,etc.

 

Any clearifacition on this would be great. Also im looking to replace the chrome section of my bumper so if anyone know where to pick one up cheap please let me know.

Not sure about interchange, but I was told the hole in the bumper was for air flow/cooling.
