97 C2500 5.7l - Convert Scpi To Mfi Injector System

I have a 1997 Cheyenne C2500 with a 5.7L Vortec (208,000 km) with Seqential Central Port Injector system. I have chronic poor starting issues when the weather is cold. All ignition parts have been checked, new plugs installed, fuel pump function and pressure, pressure regulator, O2 sensor, etc all been checked by my mechanic. I believe this problem is related to sticking/plugged injector poppet valves in the SCPI system, apparently a chronic issue, with a GM service bulletin issued. I am planning to have the SCPI swapped out for the Multiport Flexible Injector system... read several threads that talk about this providing the cure to chronic starting problems and other problems. It's not a performance upgrade, just a fix to a different injector less susceptible to the deposit buildup.

Anyway.... what should the parts cost?.... and what should the labour time be?

Check GM parts direct.com as the upgrades are always normally on the first page. They are the cheapest, even with shipping. You'll want to buy the good set of Felpro gaskets from your local auto store which are normally less than $100 for a complete set.
