Cutting Out Fog Holes? Gmc Sierra 08

I'm needing a new bumper for a 08 GMC Sierra LMM that has fog lights, anyway I found a good deal on a bumper that doesn't have the fog light holes, has anyone ever just cut out the holes and put the oem fog lights in again??

i assume you mean the bumper has the fog light holes, just not the actual fog lights? if so then it is possible to add fog lights. i had the dealer install my fogs. they just cut out the plastic inserts.

what was the cost for the dealer to install?

i paid $387 OTD for the fog light kit and install. i could have rigged some aftermarket lights myself, but to me it's worth the money to have OEM fog lights. i don't want aftermarket switches in my dash.

i have no idea if this is a good price or not. my salesman quoted it to me during the negotiation part of the deal, so it may be at dealer cost if he was eager to make a sell. of course it could be inflated too. gives you a ballpark figure though.

edit: FYI the OEM fogs are underpowered. i think the bulbs are something like 24 watts (not sure of the lumens, but probably low). many people would prefer aftermarket lights for this reason. they work fine for me though. you can always ugrade the bulb too. i know daddy has a write up on this.

Yea, it's one of those bumpers that came off of a work truck. They have the holes but the very back is covered up. I would think could probably just cut it out and fasten it somehow.
