2001 Yukon/tahoe A/c Noise When Turned On 3,4,or 5

When I turn my A/C (just A/C not heat) up past level 2 it makes this loud low pitched thhuuuuu noise. The air also tends to get warmer if the car is at a traffic light.

 

Has this happened to anyone else, and if so, do you know what the problem is?
