Power Window Wont Work

I have a 02 GMC ecsb. My problem is on the drivers side window-it won't roll up. It did roll down though. I had it half way down then tried to roll it up and it wouldn't go up only down, little by little with each click.

Here's what I've done: I've checked the electrical connector to the window motor with a test light. I get light when I test up and down.

But, when I check the the electrical connector to the switch panel with a test light, I can get the passenger window to roll up and down but nothing on the drivers side.

I'm sure I understand where your getting power and where your not. It looks like you are saying you are getting power to the motor, but not from the switch. This doesn't make sense to me because I don't know how you tested power to the motor without using the switch.

It can only be a few things, as I think you understand. It's either not getting power because the switch is bad, it's not getting power because there's a ground problem or it's getting power but the motor is bad.

Not much help, but I think you're on the right track.

You need a window regulator.....I'm replacing one today in a 2002 Chev 1500hd.Also drivers side..The cable either snaps a/o jumps off the pully's and wraps itself around the gear on the motor...

I had mine replaced about 2 years ago, cost a bundle, and I had to do it right away, due to it happening in the winter, and I parked downtown Cleveland at the time, so it would not have been there when I came back from work!
