275/70r17 Mt/r Anyone?

I know everyone has had enough of these threads. And i understand you need a level kit for 285/70r17 tires. But I have been searching and not found any info on 275/70r17 tires in old threads.

 

Goodyear Wrangler MT/R comes in that size and I was wondering if any trimming/level kit is required. It seems to be a rare size (a bit bigger than stock but not as wide as 285) and not many manufacturers make this size, but if it fits w/o mod I might pick up a set. Since it is narrower than the 285 I figure it might work.

 

I would really appreciate any info.

Dont have an answer but someone will, what are you running now? Maybe you can look at how much room you have now and see what the difference is by loooking at what you want to replace it with in person and take a few measurments...

I have had 285 bfg's on my truck from the day it left the dealer. They fit fine on a stock ride, with no issues at all. I do have a 2.5" front level with a 2" rear block now, but that's just for looks not for tires. So I am assuming you should be fine with 275's.

I've also had a few different sets of 285/70R17's AT's on my trucks without mod's with little to no rub.

I am running 265/70r17s now. I tried to eyeball a few measurements with the wheel cranked all the way. I think they should fit, but I am worried the extra width might cause rubbing when articulated. They should be about .5 inches wider and .7 inches taller by my measurements. I think I might go for it a trim a bit if necessary.

 

Yall were running 285s with no level? I am a bit suprised by that, does the vmax come with a higher/different suspension b/c of added engine weight?

Why not just run a leveling kit if you worried. You can get the RC kit for $70 and can run only one spacer in there if you don't want all 2 inches of lift

I run 275/70/17 on my gmt900 crew Yokohama Geolanders at/s

 

I have ran BFG AT, michelins, goodyears, and firestone and not even came close to being as pleased as I am with my Yokohama's.

 

And they are made in the U.S.A
