Is There A Katzkin Dealer In The House?

Yes there is. This is who I got my covers from, and he is familiar with the TSP and lint issue. E-mail or call him and he will help you, and he was a good guy to deal with.

Your better off finding a local dealer close to where you live should issues arise. Just go to katkzin.com and contact the local area rep who can give you local dealers in your area.

I tried that, and the guy never called me back. I figured that if I bought them in Canada, I may be better then ordering from the US. But the clown (no offense Jim) never got back back to me, ever. So I went through Clint and had a reply that afternoon. He was pretty good, and I bet at the end of the day, I got a better price then if I had ordered from a locally. Border fees are a killer, and if someone can take advantage of that, then they will. All the seat covers are coming for the same place, and the warranty is nation wide, so no worries there.

Well theres usually more then one dealer locally around, at least here in the US. If i did it again, i would go local due to issues i had with a out of state dealer that was reccomended.

I've tried that already since that was the obvious thing to do. According to Katzkin I have one dealer locally and he won't sell to me because he doesn't have a state sales and use license to retail.

Katzkin leather seat group buy thread

I tried to tell someone on another GM truck site that had a Katzkin "group buy" that this is not a product that is conducive to a group buy. Nobody listened and it was a disaster with a lot of angry members and people out money and the seller's reputation ruined. People waited MONTHS for their order.

Group buys are great when everyone is buying the same item. A group buy is a single purchase for X amount of the same product. The advantages are that you can get a product that you otherwise couldn't get because of manufacturing minimums or you get a price break because you're ordering so much of the same item. It's not great when everyone wants something different. That's the case for leather interiors. For example, unless you're going to get 25 people who want a three row shale interior with gathered inserts for a 2003-2006 Yukon/Tahoe/Escalade with first and second row buckets, you don't have a group buy. And lets face it, that would never happen. Instead you just have a bunch of people overwhelming a vendor with unique orders. I want two tone tan/neutral with contrast stitching and second row 60/40 bench, you've got a truck with front buckets solid bench and you want red and black. Each order is unique. It is is no way a benefit to the buyer, and its only a benefit to the seller if he can deliver.

I for one won't be participating in a "group buy" for a leather interior.

That may be true. I think that is why he is only setting it up to take 10 orders at a time. I think 10 is a manageable order, even with custom options. If we get the first 10 to buy, we'll see how the order is handled, and we'll go from there.

If thats the seller i think your referring to the dude was a complete tool. Screwing with peoples order, not getting the product out, not ordering said product etc.

Maybe so, but whether or not he was a tool, everything I said remains true.
