Rattle In Nbs Silverado

Recommended Posts

I have a 2007 NBS Silverado that has developed a rattle on the drivers side. It sounds like the rattle is coming from the door post between the front and rear doors on the drivers side (crew cab truck). The door strike plate (I think that is what the latch in the door is called) and the striker (the stud screwed to the door post that the door latches to) is also tight. The truck is still under warranty but I have never had much luck getting a dealership to chase down rattles. It seems like the noise is related to the truck flexing when getting off or on the throttle. I have opened the doors and grabbed them and tried to fan them open and closed rapidly to listen for a loose window regulator or some piece of hardware ratteling in the bottom of the inside of the door but no luck. I tried applying silicone grease to the door weatherstrips and the door latch. Has anyone had the plastic trim panel off that separates the front and rear doors on a crew cab truck? Is there anything behind there other than the seat belt reels? I may just have to live with it but if anyone has found a solution to something similar I would love to try what you tried. Thanks.
