memsic Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 I have a 2002 chevy 2500HD with a 6.0..cold air intake and EFI live, i have one tune that i got off the internet that added a hole nother world of HP, i was wondering if anyone else had played with efi on a gasser and new how to get more horsepower out of it or if anyone has a Pull tune for it?
Justind1203 Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 I have EFI and use it on a few Duramaxes but I would like to understand how to make mods to the gas trucks too, mostly just pull some tq managment out just to make it feel better.
Jennabear Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 I would be very careful with just grabbing a tune and slapping it on your truck. Be sure to run diagnostics to make sure that you aren't having any problems. All trucks are different, a tune that is good for one, may not be good for another.

memsic Posted October 22, 2009 Author Posted October 22, 2009 i started with a tune that i got online, suprisingly it worked perfect with no major problems. i do agree that all trucks are different with tuning them. ive learned that the hard way lol, i got EFI do mainly to truck pulls, when i first started i was pulling in the 250ft range then i got my first tune and juss mod'ed it myself and started passing the 300ft range without any trouble, every once in a great while if im holding 6300rmp ill throw a O2 Sensor code which makes no sence to me sence they are disabled (If anyone knows anything about this let me no). but EFI took my 6.0 to a hole nothing world...its not a dog anymore But anyways justind1203 do you write your own tunes and do u have alot of knowlegde in the allison tranny?..if so get back with me i have a buddy whos got EFI on his 03' dmax with a edge tuner and hes having some serious trans issues

I have a 02 2500HD 6L with a procharger 8# boost. I had it data loged with EFI Live, 100% TM and abuse removed. I can't even burn a tire. It is quick, pulls hard but will not smoke the tires.
Jennabear Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 What other mods do you have? Remember, the Prochargers aren't known for low end, so wheel spinning isn't going to come easy. What size wheels/tires too?
memsic Posted December 19, 2009 Author Posted December 19, 2009 i feel your pain, my 6.0 pulls like non other and takes off like a bat outta hell but will not spin a tire. i had 265/75/16s on it and jus put 285s on it, wish i new why it was like that my truck wouldnt spin a tire when it was stock either....bout to jus say screw it and make it a turbo gasser

What size wheels/tires too? All stock tires and wheels, Dual 14"X3" Magnaflows with balance pipe.Big injectors ,wide band datalog, 11 psi boost know. After looking in the free download of EFI Live I found more safety gimics GM put in. I went back to the shop for a reflash and pulled all the traction control, abuse, TM. After the reflash the truck digs from a stop, the trans shift is fine with the heavy 2500HD, some warned of hard 1-2 shift but not in the heavy trucks. I make about 5# boost from a standing start right at converter stall-2200 rpm then it climbs from there. I do get a code above 10# boost "service engine soon" flashing then goes out when my age rolls back to 51. maybe 33 rpm/maf?? Just started with the last pulley change from 9-11 psi.
