6.0 Maganaflow 12589....anyone Install This?

I have a Flowmaster bigblock 50 series on my 6.0L HD 2500....it is ok, not too loud, not much resonance, but just does not sound good...just loud.

 

I am thinking about switching to a Magnaflow 12589, hoping to improve the sound but not the noise....

 

Anyone install one of these? It is the SI/SO 3" offset style....thanks.

i have the 12589 (muffler only) on my 5.3l. its louder than stock but its not too loud in general..i cant compare it to the flowmaster becuase i havent heard it, but i would think its about the same. yes its 3" in/out.

Good info on the Magnaflow. I had a Magnaflow exhaust on my SRT8 and hated every minute of it... While it sounded good, it droned so bad inside that it was literally killing me....

 

I think I may take a second looks at Banks Power Monster exhaust for my '09 2500HD.

I put the Magnaflow on my truck and it sounds much better,,,,more throaty and very little drone compared to the flowmaster. Glad I made the switch.

Banks does not make a system for the '09.

 

Nobody does. I have searched high and low. Borla is going to release on in the next couple months they say.
