Wiring New Auxiliary Lights

I want to wire some more lights on my 2000 GMC Sierra, along with fix some of the wiring the previous owner had done. On my other truck, a Nissan Titan, I had used these connectors that you attach to the fuse box, but I cannot remember the name. I am hoping someone here remembers and can link or point me in the right direction.

Basically, you pull out an existing fuse, plug this pigtail into the fuse slot and plug the fuse back into the pigtail, but it also has a second hot lead so you can attach your auxiliary light relay.

Also, I've seen wireless switch kits at places like Pep Boys that allow you to hook a switch relay up and leave all the wiring under the hood so you don't have to come in through the firewall. The relay has a remote switch you place in the cab and use it to activate the relay wirelessly and run the lights. My neighbor just wired up some new lights on her bull bar with one of these wireless setups and it was cool as hell. Took her about 15 minutes to wire up her lights. Anyone have any experience with this wireless switch setup? Is the wireless switch reliable, or can it be problematic?

Thanks for any feedback.

A fuse tap is what you are looking for in the first part of your post. They are available pretty much anywhere the fuses are sold (auto parts store, walmart, etc.). As for the second part about the wireless switch kit, that does sound like a great idea but I have never seen one. Might be worth checking into though. Thanks for the idea!!

Fuse tap. Ok, thanks!

As for the remote switch, I see companies like PIAA are selling some lights with an optional remote light switch kit. I tried to find the one my neighbor had from Pep Boys, but I couldn't find the part on Pep Boys' website.

Thanks again.

You can find the wireless remote kits online fairly easily. I would rather go with a hard wired setup, as going through the firewall is not as bad as it sounds.
