Mod Plans, Advice?

I own a 2005 Sierra 5.3 ext cab Z71

At the moment, she is bone stock... and i mean BONE.

Im looking to make some changes to get some more HP and here are my plans...

First: Heads (havent found best product yet, and advice?)

Next: Cat back exhaust, looking to go for magnaflow

Then: intake. i have read so much stuff all over the internet about intakes and i dont even know what to believe anymore. i was looking at the CAI from Volant and those look to be pretty nice but im not really sure.

Finally: BB tune

Of course i plan to do more, but this is only stage one.

What im asking for is just general advice.... am i heading in the right direction and does anyone have any brand advice? I just want to treat my baby right :P

I would do intake and exhaust first. You won't see much of an increase in performance with headers unless you get LTs and couple them with a cam. So I would suggest:

1. intake

2. exhaust

3. tune (do the tune after cam and headers if you are able to get it all done soon after the intake and exhaust)

4. cam

5. headers

As far as cylinder heads, I think you would do fine with any of the reputable LSx shops around the country...Speed Inc., Thunder Racing, Katech, MTI Racing, SLP, Vengeance, Rapid Motorsports are just a few that come to mind.

the stock heads flow pretty good you will see a big gain from a zo6 cam and valve springs I would do

1: cold air intake

2:full exhaust a:Long tube headers

b:Y-pipe

c: cat back of your choice

3:LS1 E-fans

4:Z06 cam and springs

should be around 380rwhp then add 4:10 or 3:73 gears

I'll add one more to that... AFR. Air flow research is hard to beat.

You will definitely want to change cams, if you are changing heads. You would be wasting a good head if you didn't. There is no way a factory cam will utilize a good set of heads fully.

Good luck with the build. It sounds like it could be fun.
