Can Anyone Identify This Wire?

Hey does anyone know what this wire is for? Its on the firewall on the passenger side hanging below the A/C Receiver/dryer. Its an 03 silverado with the 5.3.

Hey does anyone know what this wire is for? Its on the firewall on the passenger side hanging below the A/C Receiver/dryer. Its an 03 silverado with the 5.3.

 

That's there for a factory option called AIR. If you look in your fuse box, there will be a big fuse labeled AIR on the diagram on the cover. More than likely that fuse will be absent(and should be). What the AIR system does is inject air into the egr valve to further help clean emmisions. This is nothing to worry about, it comes from the factory this way. Mine has the same thing, I can take a picture of it and show you if you want me to.
