Weird Sound

I've noticed when I turn off the key there is a humming motor like sound by the glovebox for a second or 2. It doesn't matter if I have the a/c on or off. Other than that noise everything sounds, runs, smells, and feels normal. It is a 1988 Sierra SLE 2wd regular cab.

So far the fluid levels are good. I changed the oil and filter for good measure anyway. I replaced the pcv valve. The truck gets between 14-18 mpg depending on in town or highway.

I just want to track down this sound soon since I 'm planning on taking my truck on a fishing trip a few hundred miles from home soon. Any help is appreciated.

so take out the glovebox and investigate/diagnose it,22 yr old truck lesli

Could it be the heater blower motor winding down??? Blower motor is located under the glove box.

I took a quick look this morning it should be easy enough to get to. I know how I'll be spending this weekend.

have you recently added an electric fan if its powered from the wrong terminal in the fuse box it can act like a generator and would produce power intill it stops spinning
