Can I Buff This Out?

So on the way home from work I got creamed from behind. Some guy slammed on his brakes in front of me to let a car out of a parking lot during full on rush hour traffic. I stopped in time, but there was a guy coming up the hill behind me and as soon as he crested the hill there we were stopped in the road. So of course being that it was raining all day, he hit his brakes and just slid right into the back of me. His truck is probably a write off and I have a good bit of damage to my truck as well...I just feel sorry for him as it was his only Vehical and it being his work Truck makes it suck even more. Plus the point that in all reality it wasn't his fault but the guy in front of me, I wish we would have got his plate.

So anyway...heres some pics.

I am gonna bet that you will have a bent frame. I did when I got rear ended.

What did they do with your truck, did they straighten the frame or just write it off. I know the frame flexed, the box hit the passenger side of the cab (second picture).

I know the guy was doing about 55km/h (35mph) when he hit me. He said thats the speed he last seen on his speedo seconds before he hit me. He hit his brakes but the roads were really slick as it didn't rain here in a few weeks and this was the first day of rain. So i don't think he even slowed down before he hit me...he actually pushed me about 15-20 feet up the road.

if you got lucky ... it would have just tweaked the bed mounting locations ...

as for the dent in the bed ... some hot air from a heat gun .. and then a can of compressed air turned upside down .. would remove most all of it ... leaving just a small dent near the body line

Well its all fixed....I had 5700 bucks in damage.

The frame only took damage at the bumper mounts, and everything else is all fixed up. There was some chips on the driver side of the box, so while they had the paint mixed up and in the gun, they shot a coat over the whole box and got rid of all the chips. It only cost me 100 bucks.

I'll post pics as soon as I can. The only problem I have now is the paint forward of the box looks faded. Time for clay and some Zaino.

Tell me about it....I asked...but they didn't do that.
