I use Kroger’s the most. Their office is right at the pump. It’s rare the receipt doesn’t work at the pump. But there’s always the thank you at the end.1 point

Seems like half the stations everywhere don't print out receipts anymore, either broken, out of paper, and they want you to come inside. NOPE. I just wait for the "Thank you / Come Again" screen on the terminal.1 point

It's been around for a while. It suddenly has taken off virally on facebook. Enough people have finally posted a bunch of links like these and it's slowing down Like the guy I referenced that I wanted to immolate, he was screaming at the attendant that they were ripping everyone off. He was calling the cops and everything. Cops said they weren't coming out for what he described, but they would come out and trespass him if he didn't calm down1 point

The whole story is false. The screw is there as a temporary fix to allow the pump to even turn on. When the nozzle is returned the pump shuts off.. At this point people are just being punked https://youtu.be/1DtlaEuHXAA?si=06mrRmw9HLUwdeRk https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1CyRZdsaSc/ https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1DxV1Hyrqi/ SNOPES: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19HPYUnRik/1 point

As much as I love the S10 Blazer (owned more than one, back in the day!) they were never at the forefront of safety. "They don't build 'em like they used to!" - thank goodness. Pour one out for what looked like a nice example of a clean old Blazer.1 point

I think the ship has sailed on the fuel injection type - everything is getting direct now. Does it help with mpg? Not really and nobody buying a HD truck really cares anyway. But that is what it is at this point. Piston rings is something they may well adjust over time to get them right.1 point

I'm just amazed there's any interest at all after their track record the past 19 model years. How many years did people get screwed by AFM? Then the 6.2 debacle ... and the variation from Ford's exact 10-speed that works fine, but GM had to take it and screw it up as usual causing yet ANOTHER failure mode ... and the list goes on! From my perspective this sounds like a company with contempt for its customers. I vote with my wallet.1 point

I bought an SLE last year after driving both and a couple different 1500's. The difference in options and comfort between the pro and SLE is significant. If they had an Elevation trim equivalent for the 2500 I probably would have gotten that. I think a 2500 gasser SLE or LT trim is the best truck you can get for the price right now. The power seats allow you to adjust the angle of the seat as well as up/down/forward/back/recline and lumbar. The heated seats and steering wheel are nice in the winter here, as is remote start. Carpet with the all weather floor mats are way nicer than vinyl floors and easier to clean. The digital dash has grown on me a bit, GM doesn't exactly have a great track record with the prolonged function of analog gauges, the dash cluster was the weakest point on the 99-06.5 trucks which were probably the best trucks they ever made. I like the bigger infotainment screen. I will say that I like GM's wider screen vs other brands that have taller screens.1 point

Are you going to take long trips in it? If so, try out the seats in the various trims. For me the lower trim level seats were not comfortable.1 point

Sierra HD Pro: - If you want a power driver's seat on the Pro, you can't get it. You have to go to SLE. - Factory remote start? Can't get it on any of the Sierra Pro trim (1500 or HD). You have to go SLE. - 7 inch radio has limitations for replacement if you wanted to upgrade the screen, etc. - Steering wheel radio controls? Nope. Can you add them? Yes. NOT CHEAP. Requires a new instrument cluster, steering wheel and wiring harness mod kit. - Fog lights? Nope. And no factory path to install them. Sierra HD SLE: - IMO, the larger radio screen is a much better interface. - Fog lights? You can get them. Steering wheel controls? Has them. Remote start? Yep. Power driver seat? Available. Silverado WT: - Same as the Pro above however you CAN get factory remote start installed at the dealer for the WT Chevy. Silverado Custom: - Comes with 20" wheels only. Can you swap later? Sure. But. Truck is calibrated for the stock 20s (34" tire) and no path to properly recalibrate. - Power seat? Yes. - Steering wheel controls? Same as the Pro above. No but can be done and not cheap. Silverado LT: - Same as the SLE. You can get or it comes with many features you can't do on the lower trims. I'd say its all going to come down to what you NEED and what you WANT to have that you'd benefit from. For me, things like power seat is a must (I hate the WT/Pro seating position), so I'd have to go Custom, LT or SLE right out of the gate. Steering wheel controls? Should be standard in 2026 across the board IMO, so again, puts me to LT or SLE.1 point

Fred was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young pullets, and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced. This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells. Fred's favourite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all! When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover. To Fred's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one. Fred was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the City Show and he became an overnight sensation among the judges. The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the "No Bell Piece Prize," but they also awarded him the "Pulletsurprise" as well. Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention. Vote carefully in the next election, you can't always hear the bells.1 point

Roadmaster makes some quality parts; I have their sway bar. I considered the RAS, but I ended up bagging. I didn't know what kind of ride I'd get with RAS, and the bags have interior jounce bumpers, so I can run 0 pounds pressure. I figured I'd have the best of normal suspension ride with assist on-demand. But it seems you got pretty much the same in one item.1 point

It's a big deal. I understand GM wanting to monetize that data, unfortunately i have yet to see an infotainment system that worked as well as CarPlay, and I'm confident the Android folks will soon tire of paying GM for access to the Android apps already on their phones, and that they are already paying data plans for. Adding AppleMusic as an app to the GM environment where I still need to pay for data access is a non starter for me - I already pay for one data plan and don't see how it makes sense to pay for another one. I won't be buying a new vehicle that does not support CarPlay, as long as there are alternatives (Body on frame like my 1500) that I can purchase when the time comes. I think it's quite a misstep by GM, I wonder if they will come to their senses. It will be weird to not be driving a chevy vehicle after 40 years of owning them.1 point

Did you use a scanner to determine the difference in temperature between ambient and intake? The reason I ask is because most cold air intakes actually are bringing in hotter air! It's why I call them hot air intakes! To me, they are a complete waste of money, especially on these trucks. The stock intake is designed very well and brings in pretty much straight outside air.1 point

I saw a very nice looking '25 2500HD Trail Boss at a good price. I have a 1500 today, but can't help but wonder if a move up to the 2500 would be worth it, I don't tow anything at all and only put 5k miles a year on my truck. Is the move up worth it as a daily driver if i wouldn't tow anything?1 point

took my 2022 AT4 3500 in for an engine oil leak and a torque converter leak on July 11... i was told truck was ready for pick up July 16.. picked up truck and transmission was clunking and not at all the same smooth transmission i brought in... 2 days later told it needed a valve body now.. the dealer called me on September 25,, truck is ready, picked it up on Sept 27 drove 2 or 3 kms before it started acting up again. then went into limp mode. drove back to dealer. they called later that day saying new valve body was faulty.. they then said i would have to wait the same as the first time the valve body failed as they can't put me on a priority list..I wish we had the Lemon Law in Canada..1 point

Has anyone gone about installing parts from Next Gen Drivetrain for the 10L1000? They make both an upgraded valve body assembly as well as a valve body upgrade kit. I gave them a call, they stated these parts are plug and play with both the gas and diesel 10L1000's and don't involve any sort of tuning. I'm thinking they could help with getting ahead of potential valve body issues that have been popping up? Only caveat is that they aren't OEM approved so they can void warranty (assuming the dealer realizes these parts have been installed) so this will probably hold many of us back for now, but could be an option for those who's warranty has expired. Parts aren't cheap ($800 for the upgrade kit, $3500 for the complete valve body), but everything with these trucks is expensive and ideally would help prevent more significant transmission damage/issues. https://nextgendiesel.com/collections/10l1000-transmissions-transmission-parts/products/project-carbon®-10l1000-high-pressure-diy-valve-body-upgrade-kit?variant=43582624333997 https://nextgendiesel.com/collections/10l1000-transmissions-transmission-parts/products/10l1000-project-carbon™-high-performance-valve-body-oil-pump1 point

General Motors should be embarrassed and ashamed of what they are producing lately. Why should anyone spend the kind of money that they are charging for these trucks and then have to spend close to a thousand more without any labor just to fix what should never have been released to the public in the first place. I have been a line mechanic with GM since 1978 and have never seen such garbage being put out. We have trucks lined up waiting for valve bodies that people cant use and are still making payments on. We cant keep up with the engine failures and oil leaks and transmission problems that are never ending. Just had to vent a little.1 point

The Bilsteins will control bounce better during heavy payload and towing. The Ranchos are a twin tube cheapo spec that aren't known for being any better than the stock GM black shocks and are mostly a marketing gimmick to sell the "Z71" name. If you are looking for a better/softer ride, it will not be found it shocks. That's in the torsion bars and rear leaf pack. Cognito sells 25% less stiff bars and springs but also 25% less payload/capability.1 point
