  1. Method required depends on generation of truck. In some cases it depends if it was built for Can or US. 2020 Owners manual has this information.
  2. The interior was uncomfortably hot when you tried it?
  3. 25 minutes in this one. Discusses many of the things being talked about with the 6.2's and oil used and the recall. Several interesting things. One is that if you get a new engine it will not have the original 0W-20 oil spec recommended. Video does talk about why.
  4. Does the remote roll-down with fob work on your truck? If so, have you tried it when the interior was uncomfortably hot?
  5. I'd suggest adding def when it's near the bottom, instead of near the top.
  6. Didn't they have the manufacturing issue corrected so that the recall does not apply to 2025's?
  7. On a 2025 RST, Z71 isn't the 'skid plate' option. On 2025 1500 silverado, Z71 is available on some trims This is for 2025 RST There is also a skid plate package available on a bunch of trims -- it's an available option on RST I wonder what the 2025 NZZ skid plates cover?
  8. This is true. But the flat towing requirements are the same for 1500/2500/3500 1500's are more commonly flat towed than 3500's so might even get more help here?
  9. I don't know what 'Demco Airforce One does or what your ETrailer system does. Did you disconnect the battery with the shifter still in 'D"?
  10. Clearly there have been issues with intellibeam, but ours have not had a failure -- so it's not an 'every vehicle' issue. Been running intellibeam since 2016. (5 vehicles, counting his and hers) All have always worked without failure. Sometimes (not always) the speed switch points (doesn't turn on until above 25 mph, and turns on, and turns off below 12 mph it turns) can be annoying -- but that's how they are programmed. In some traffic situations I don't like the way it responds. (on / off too frequently I do switch it off sometimes because in those situations. I do like the button on the end of the stalk for operating it MUCH better than the original method when it was first available in trucks. (if iintellibeam was disabled it required manipulating the blinker stalk 2 times in 2 seconds)
  11. You're under warranty. Take it in and let them provide the service you already paid for. If it needs a radio, they will have to go thru the steps anyway.
  12. Might need a new radio. There are specific steps a dealer must do to get one shipped in. Of course it's also possible the steps might correct the problem Required Information for Restricted IOK Radios – TechLink Required Information for Restricted IOK Radios May 13, 2025 The infotainment system (RPO IOK) on 2022-2025 Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, Sierra, Yukon, HUMMER EV; 2024-2025 Corvette, Silverado HD and Sierra HD models is on restriction. (Fig. 3) If the radio must be replaced, there are several procedures that must be followed to order a new radio. Fig. 3 The IOK Radio part numbers 85086705 and 85086710 have been put on restriction based on #PIC6602. A PQC case will need to be created prior to ordering the part through Specmo. The PQC phone number is 866-654-7654. Required Information PQC will ask for the following information when creating the case: What is the message displayed on the radio screen? See #PIT6209. Did the technician confirm the radio software is up to date following: Bulletin #24-NA-261 – 2022-2024 Full-Size Trucks and SUVs Bulletin #24-NA-276 – 2025 Full-Size Trucks Bulletin #24-NA-168 – 2022-2024 HUMMER EV Bulletin #25-NA-098 – 2024-2025 Corvette and 2025 HUMMER EV If the radio is not at the latest software level, did the technician update the radio, clear all codes and recheck for the concern? If concerns continue, did the technician disconnect, inspect and reconnect all related connections, clear any codes and recheck for the concern? What is the current as-built version for the radio? Once the PQC case is created and the part is released, dealerships can reach out to Specmo to order the radio. Specmo is the only approved supplier of the part. They will verify the PQC case and verify the part can be shipped. Refer to #PIC6602 for additional information.
  13. You are always so cynical. They make money doing the brake service too. It's been my experience that at least some do suggest it, but the service is often refused. Probably leads to not asking as often. I've been let know by both GM dealers and by independents. Including yesterday by the shop (not a that I had doing a winter/summer tire swap.
  14. Are you running a 2500 or a 1500 with a standard bed or ...? I run crew cab standard box (6'8") 1500's. (3 one so far) Double cab 1500's are also standard box. (I tried one, but probably won't run another) I also can't see myself in a shortbox truck.
  15. 3.0 is a completely different animal from the the 6.6 I've got more years running 04.5 LLY, '10 LMM , '11 LML, and '18 L5P than I do running '21 LM2 and '23 LZO If fuel economy matters, ( I realize you said it doesn't) with them doing the same jobs (mostly daily driver, but some towing) the L5P ran high '17's and the '23 is giving 29.1 'life of vehicle' (30,000 miles so far)'
  16. Is android 11 the latest available for your Pixel 4XL? I don't use AA often, but it doesn't lock up when I do. Samsung S22, with Android 14 Might be time for a newer pixel
  17. They have had clusters that can be set for inch or metric for quite awhile now. I run mine in 'inch' mode....
  18. My dealer works with bid prices from US truck jockey to establish how much he will pay for trade. This is for clean trades. Vehicle with more life experience, that he doesn't want on the lot, go to the used vehicle auctions for bidding from both US and Can buyers.
  19. Keyless access can be disabled -- either on purpose OR accidentally. On the remote, press the lock and unlock buttons at the same time -- for about 3 seconds -- and the lights will flash to acknowledge. 4 flashes indicates it has been disabled 2 flashes indicates it has been enabled.
  20. Is the boat trailer level with the existing 3" drop?
  21. I'm not a iPhone user, but wonder if this iOS update improves CarPlay in the trucks https://www.tomsguide.com/phones/iphones/apple-carplay-just-got-a-welcome-upgrade-in-ios-18-4#:~:text=iOS 18.4 — what-,you,-need to know
  22. I don't have an iPhone, but saw a story yesterday that apple has released and update to CarPlay. Might be worth checking out. \ Don't know if it impacts the connectivity issues, but it did mention that on some vehicles it would make more apps available on the screen.
  23. The door button for keyless access can be enabled or disabled using the fob. Enable/disable is the same pair of fob buttons Possibly possible for them to get unintentionally pushed pushed when the fob is in pocket. It's also seems that some updates set this feature to 'off'.
