  1. I just put on a set of Cooper AT3 4S tires in 275/65/18 on my Silverado.. Tirerack has a good video on the AT3 4S but, nothing on the LT... The LT is a different rubber compound I believe... Do you have a 1500 or 2500?
  2. Nice looking tires! I was seriously considering these but, I wound up going with Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S... If I didn't drive in snow I would have probably gone with the Continentals too but, I wanted something severe snow rated.. Will be curious to hear your reports on snow, tire racks review said that they were sufficient but, not great in the white stuff.
  3. I always will always opt for the biggest engine that my budget will afford. My current truck the 5.3L was the biggest available in an LT trim level so that is what I got... I'm happy with the motor, the 6 speed kinda sucks though..
  4. Yeah the videos sure make it look that way.. I'm slammed at work right now and have a lot going on at home so if I can get GM to pick up some of the tab it might be worth it for me to just pay the dealer to do it but, I ain't gonna pay $1300 that's for sure, I'll take a PTO day from work before I do that but, for $500ish I'd be happy to pay someone else to do it..
  5. Thanks for the info... Only a few hot days left here it looks like so I may just DIY it and borrow the tools like you suggested at Autozone..
  6. 81k miles on my 2016 and the AC finally gave up today, it's been performing poorly for the last week or so.. Have an appt. with the Chevy dealer on Saturday for a diagnostic... Watched a youtube vid and it doesn't look terribly tough to DIY it but, what about the vacuum portion mentioned? What does that tool cost?
  7. I'd kind of like to get one but, can't justify the cost, most of the time my bed is empty except for a few tie straps and trailer hitches...
  8. I will certainly be shopping RAM for my next truck but, I have a hard time trusting their reliability.. I drive about 30k miles a year so reliability is king in my book... I was behind a RAM 1500 Laramie today and that thing looked slick.
  9. Good for you for doing work with your truck but, drop 2k # in the bed and see how the lowered suspension does.. Also come on man don't be afraid the let the blocks touch the spray in bed liner it's tough enough to handle it!
  10. Same situation with my X15 cover, I believe it is the bed that leaks, not the cover... I had a cover that was on top of the rail before and it was drier in the front corners (closest to cab) but, still leaked quite a bit at the tailgate... IMO the only waterproof covers will be the Undercover hinge open type... I think if you took silicone or something similar you could seal up the bed but, I haven't had the motivation to try yet..
  11. Even if you don't have excel just google loan amortization table and you can do the math.. It's often always been a wash between incentives and rebates so that the mfr makes about the same profit whether it's on the selling price or the interest rates... We had considered taking the incentives for financing with GMF and then re-financing the loan the next month when we got the paperwork but, we decided that it wasn't worth the hassle over the $1000 of incentives we gave up.. There is no prepayment penalty on GMF loans so anyone telling you that 6 months of payments need to be made is lying..
  12. Damn, how often do you do an under carriage wash? I take mine once a week anytime there is salt on the road.. How many miles on the truck?
  13. I don't know how BAK stays in business, seems like lots of complaints... Why did you chose their product over Truxedo's Sentry?
  14. What?? Did you drive thru a salt mine lol?
  15. Exactly, I enjoy cutting the grass, most times! It's been so wet here though and with out crappy graded yard we have, there are many wet spots and I actually got the mower stuck 3x this year and needed to get the truck to pull 'er out, the mower weighs about 800# so there isn't much chance of getting it out manually so that was kinda bummer but, it's finally drying out more..
  16. It is a time suck, especially on the truck... Started around 10:30am with washing, finished up around 4:00 pm with a quick lunch break but, I was pushing pretty hard to get it done quickly as we had a couple of things on the social calendar for that evening.. Typically I try to wash & clay the night before, then polish & seal the following morning... I've thought about ceramic coating but, have not done the research yet.. I drive my truck for work ( company pays $450 a month + $0.20 per mile) and I rack up about 25-30k a year between work and personal use so I think the ceramic coating would be nice because I don't get as many months between needing sealant applied due to the miles I drive.. Not sure if I would trust myself to apply the ceramic or not, might consider having a pro do it...
  17. I don't know how many years I would have gotten out of the mower but, my back wouldn't have taken the beating, our yard is so bumpy that I had been bucked out of the seat a few times on the tractor to the point where it activated the kill switch. The previous original owners did not have a finish grade done on the lawn so it's just as it was when it was a live stock farm back in the day so it's really rough.. The additional upside to the zero turn is a cut my mowing time from 2+ hours to roughly an hour, that time savings was worth it alone to upgrade the mower... I had mowed this lot for 2 years on the tractor, mowed at my last place's one acre lot for 3 years prior so I got a good 5 years out of it, paid $2k sold it for $1k, I guess I did OK... Paid close to $6k for the zero though so hopefully it will last me 15+ years... To the OP: Sorry for the off topic discussion, those drone pics look pretty sweet!! Nice yard man!
  18. Looks good, my 3.5 acre lot is too big of a POS right now to even know where to begin but, if I ever get it fixed up I'd make something like this for my 52" Husquvarna Zerotrun... My last mower was a 48" Husq. tractor similar to yours, they're good machines, only sold mine because the 3.5 acres of seriously bumpy yard was going to tear it to shreds, I had to get a professional grade mower with a full suspension seat to save my body too...
  19. Washed, clayed, polished & sealed the truck on Thursday... With Adams Polishes stuff mostly except for the Nanoskin clay substitute...
  20. I just put the Truxedo Pro x15 on my truck, had a folding hard cover from Tonnopro for the last 5 years and just got tired of the poor quality and having to remove the cover to get full bed access... If you're considering a BAK roll-x, look at Truxedo Sentry, BAK has a bad rap for customer service, Truxedo has a really good reputation for standing behind their products...
  21. Replaced the Tonnopro Hardfold with a Truxedo Pro X15, it's a soft roll up with canvas over vinyl... I was tempted by the Sentry which is the same roll up with the canvas top but, has hard aluminum slats too but, it was $890 w/ 3yr warrant, this was $490 & has a lifetime warranty....
  22. OEM Shocks are garbage.. I replaced mine around 40k on all 4 corners..
  23. I had my trans, diff and transfer cases serviced at the dealer at roughly 50k miles if I remember correctly. I now have roughly 72k miles on my 2016... I need to review my owners manual to see when I need to take care of any of that again I think I was behind on some of it at 50k miles... I have never put miles on a vehicle like this before, I always leased my vehicles or had beaters so this routine maintenance stuff is kinda new to me...
  24. That sucks about the wind noise, as soon as I saw a T1 with a cap I wondered if there would be issues with that. The only way I can see you 'fixing' that is to create a much tighter gap between the cab and the cap... Maybe some plastic or rubber gasket material?
  25. Dude those look BADASS, I like the 17's and the beefy tires too! I have those boards saved in my amazon cart for 'later' I'm prob gonna just repaint my OEM ones black for now though cause I need a new tonneau cover more than I need new steps...
