  1. My 2 cents. I installed the Power Stop Z36 pads and rotors all around about 3 months ago. I did the correct break in procedure and they feel ok. Not great but just adequate enough to get the job done. I got them on sale so it was tough to pass them up. If I did it all over I would probably go the PPV route with stock or PPV pads. I have towed with them several times but I havent noticed and performance difference.
  2. Chalk up another AC down thanks to the condenser issue. I read all of the pages of this thread to make sure i not missing out on any info. Im at 73k on my 2014 and of course out of warranty as of 1/1/2020. Im not going to fight with the dealer, not worth the time of effort. Someone posted what Ive found to be the best replacement (literature wise) so far so I ordered it from rockauto today. It arrives sometime thursday so hopeful to have it up and blowing cold again friday afternoon. Heres the info on the condenser. http://www.gpdtechtips.com/techtip77.html I also ordered a high pressure hose as Ive seen a few people say these are failing sometimes too. GPD sells one on rockauto that is steel and not aluminium so hopefully itll hold up. GPD also has a seal/oring kit that I bought too since people are saying to replace the seals on the low/high pressure lines when reinstalling everything.
  3. 5/4/19 2014 Silverado 1500 5.3 60894 4934 on oil, 38% on OLM Amsoil sig series 0w-20 out and back in Wix filter 10255 installed Only running e85 and sending oil out for my engines first oil analysis.
  4. I have a 2014 with McG spindles and didnt have to modify anything to run my factory 20's. When I installed them I believe they said anything lower than 17's would require you to cut the balljoint stud. I definitely had enough room to go down to a 17".
  5. Vled vs. Amazon cheaply comparison. Also the amazon leds burned out within a month on one of the bulbs. Vleds on the left.
  6. Again vleds on the driver side.
  7. Swapped out my amazon leds with vleds. Vleds are on the driver side. Much brighter than the cheap ones. Both are switchbacks.
  8. Only pulling the blocks on a crew cab isnt a drastic difference in looks or ride quality. Most people wont even notice the difference in looks or ride. Now going from lifted to no blocks may improve the ride but stock to no blocks isnt noticable IMO.
  9. you mind giving some details on which tie downs those are? i didnt realize our trucks has areas dedicated for those lol. i could have used those for years.
  10. Thanks! I take it you bass fish too.
  11. Thanks! LOL yea that was pretty funny. That poor little bulldog was quick though. He wanted no part of that longhorn.
  12. Sorry for multiple posts, the 4mb limit kills me.
  13. Took the black dip off the grill and did paint correction, sealed, and waxed the truck today.
  14. The cold weather squeaks are annoying but normal. My truck always does it ones it below 40. I think it's either the front shocks or the bushings on the control arms.
  15. Looks great. My truck is only lowered 2/3 on 22's. Those extra 2 inches in the rear and 4 inches on the wheels really change the look of the truck drastically. Ive been thinking about going to a 2/4 or 3/4 drop but cant decide. My small drop still keeps my truck funtional for light off roading and hauling trailers.
  16. 12/29/18 2014 Silverado 1500 55,908 miles 4936 miles on oil, OLM @ 40ish% AMSOIL Sig Series 0w20 out and back in Wix 57045 oil filter Forgot to add, I only run E85 in this truck unless I travel somewhere it isnt available. Total I've probably ran 10 or less tanks of normal gas.
  17. That sounds like they are overcharging you. Its really up to you though. They'll probably want to keep the truck overnight but in reality thats a half day job in the garage or driveway. For them its probably a 2-3 hour job. I would check out instagram and facebook for truck groups near you and get suggestions on other shops nearby. Also that 3 year warranty is just a joke. What are they putting a warranty on, the bolts not backing out or nuts not coming off?
  18. Got some CK161's the other day. I havent seen these wheels until a few weeks ago and have never seen them in person until I bought them. Guess they arent popular but I got them for dirt cheap with newish tires and tpms already install. I also installed the retrofit HID headlights a few weeks back, that I bought off a member here a while back. Going to pull the dip off the grill back so its back to chrome later this week.
  19. Did these in the summer but I just saw this thread. Replaced the steering wheel, added a center console with cup holders and replaced the seats with Corbeau LG1's. I need to a get a pic of the seats and post them. Yea, thats in my LS1 swapped 91 Mustang.
  20. I doubt it if the GMC is laid out like the Chevy, behind the grille. 42" is the max I could fit width wise and only one. The reason I could only fit one behind the grille is that the hood release is in the way up high and there's no relocating that. You cant really tell but i disassembled a lot of stuff to get that one 42" bar in there and did A LOT of measuring and trimming on the radiator deflector that connects to my grille. It wasnt hard but time consuming for sure.
  21. I had to get shims after shackles and removing the blocks because of vibration. I also ended up needing to get an adjustable carrier bearing from belltech I believe. Although my truck is a crew cab with a 6.5' bed so I have a two piece driveshaft. I think any other configuration is just a one piece driveshaft so you probably wont need a carrier bearing. Vibration also varies from truck to truck, yours may be fine. If its not and you insist on ordering the shims before doing the work, buy 2* and 4* shims and one of those will likely fix the vibration.
  22. Quit being such a hardcore fanboy. GM lacks a lot of stuff the others have and "last longer, work harder" is an extremely bold statement. Especially seeing as their 1 tons don't hold a candle to Dodge or Ford. I love my Silverado and I even LS swapped my mustang but the fact is they are not the greatest thing in truck industry.
  23. So you're saying my catch can isn't catch about half a quart of oil per 5k miles? Because thats about how much I dump out in that time frame. Generally I'll dump it twice between oil changes. I have no doubt these, or any, engine burns some oil, but I think most is being taken by the CC.
