  1. Sounds like a good start on the history. Congratulations!!! (How about some interior pics?)
  2. Great looking K5, looks to be in really good shape. What's the story behind it, did you buy it from a private party? Do you know any of it's history?
  3. Welcome to the site. Glad to hear you are still alive!!! Do you have access to a couple of each, floor jacks, and jack stands? Need the get the axle up in the air in the hopes you can get things to line up again.
  4. Factory (OEM), fit great, easy install, and are fantastic when they are new. A little spendy, but you really get what you pay for with items like this.
  5. You are very welcome. Points of entry discussed over the K2 run were Sharkfin, sunroof, windshield, 3rd brake light, and a couple of posts about the seam holding the roof and cab together.
  6. Welcome to the site. Are you familiar with how to change the cabin filter? If you never have, might be a good time too, you will be able to pull the lower glove box out all the way, and then make sure it snaps back in tight before you put the screws back in.
  7. Welcome to the site. I would put money on it being the 3rd brake light. Water travels, and does not always leave stains behind. It is pretty busy underneath the headliner, so the water has a lot of places to go.
  8. Now that is funny?? Wonder how many more votes they would get if they used that slogan for their campaign???
  9. Thinking the color of blue on our trucks would be a hard one to match, with the rest of the paint being two years old now, might be better for whoever is spraying the paint to be able to "blend" with the older paint. I would ask for pictures, and a description of packaging, what method of carrier they use (parcel, ltl, ect...) so you have an idea of how it will be handled until it hits your doorstep.
  10. Worth trying, there are a lot of posts on the site here about the subject, lots of reading about cures, and no fixes at all.
  11. At this point, get it for the best deal you can, monitor the value of the truck, then if you can cancel, take the money (refund) and apply it towards the loan.
  12. What are the values of a 19, close enough for a guideline. You are probably right in the range where it makes sense, if you do buy a plan, make sure you can cancel it if you do not need (above water on the loan) it any more. When I got into my 18, financed $33,000.00, so it was a moot point for me, but I think you are real close to it being a push.
  13. Welcome to the site. I will take the high road, and stop the first post bashing. The App is really not that bad of an idea, it has so many more channels than the factory radio is capable of, so for the same subscription money, why not go that route and have the convenience of having XM anywhere you have your phone.
  14. Looks great as an 18 Z71!!! Very nice truck!
  15. If the truck is worth more than you financed (value paid if totaled), then no, don't do it, otherwise yes.
  16. Very nice! Congratulations!!!
  17. Welcome to the site. Yes, take a tech with you for a ride on the hopes that the truck will do what it has been doing. How much of your 5 year 60000 mile drivetrain warranty (saw you said 38000 miles) as far as months do you have left? If is the torque converter, get it replaced while you have some warranty left. Ask if the tech can take the equipment with you on the drive to be able to lock and unlock the converter to really see if they feel the vibration.
  18. Did you ask what is used and how it is done?
  19. Welcome to the site. Can you give more details on what was attempted to be fixed, what repairs were done?
  20. Sorry, looks like it is a closed post. Just copy and paste the link and it will pop up in an internet search.
  21. Found this post on the site from 2012. Silverado 1500 Extended Cab Long Bed
  22. Turn on your truck, fire up the AC to max, and then watch the water start to flow. It does not do it 100 percent of the time, but vey close, especially during the summer months.
  23. Pursue this option, drive something that does not stress you out, life is short, and they are giving you an option that will solve your problem. If you do not like the truck, why would you settle for free oil changes and free satellite radio?
  24. Welcome to the site. That is a Ford in the video.
