  1. My steering wheel is slightly off to the left. Truck goes down the road straight, no strange tire wear, and I agree with not wanting to take it to the dealer. I will probably will just pay and take it to a tire shop to get it straightened.
  2. way back when I worked at a dealership, our glass guy (mobile, owned his own shop) told us that there is a difference between oem and "budget" glass. when I replaced the windshield in my 08, I bit the bullet and went with oem. with the sensors and airbags, I liked the peace of mind knowing they should work as intended.
  3. swap the battery. the battery is my wives 2016 Tahoe was deemed "good" after she came out to a truck that would not start. swapped for a new battery and no problems since. my 2014 1500 had numerous electrical problems with a "good" battery, had it swapped out and never another problem while I had it.
  4. see if your salesman can get you a deal on the parts and installation. you can just roll it into the price of the truck when you sign papers as a work order.
  5. I like the factory bed lights. had/have them in my 2014 and 2016. with the cargo lamp and the two led's, one on each side under the bed rail. it puts out a lot of light.
  6. do you have an update from the dealer visit?
  7. Krusty, where in Washington are you?
  8. 0w-20 Mobil 1 full synthetic every 5000 miles in my truck and my wives 2016 Tahoe. Factory used in all corvettes for years now. 6.2 specs are the same as the 5.3 for viscosity.
  9. well, depending on the miles and condition of the seats: you can open a claim with GMC, to see if they will fix the problem, or if you have a good relationship with the dealership, they might swap the seats out of a new 2016 to see if that helps. have you driven another 2016 or 2017 on the lot to compare with yours?
  10. are your seats the heated and cooled version?
  11. the seat will not be as hot without you sitting in it. they are a different design from past models, so your body is an insulator, transferring heat from the seat. put your hand on the seat between your legs, where there is no body contact, and then where your leg is. you will notice a considerable difference.
  12. having owned both a 2014 and a 2016, there are differences between the years. the 2016 are softer and more supportive than the 2014. as far as overall comfort, they are slightly better, and seem to be wearing better also. these are (were) leather heated/cooled in both trucks.
  13. at least the truck camera is not "scrambled" every few seconds. always missed the good "parts".
  14. don't think the seal that you are describing had anything to do with the leak. it is just there to hide the "guts" of the sunroof track. more thank likely it is the shark fin or the seal (gasket). I had leaks in my 2008 and 2014, from both sources. the 2008 was one and done with the gasket being the problem, the 2014 was both and numerous fixes to get both right. good luck, t will get fixed.
  15. luck was on your side, my 2008's 3rd brake stopped working. I replaced the whole light assembly and still nothing, the problem ended being the fuse slot in the main box under the hood went bad. not the whole box, just the one slot for the 3rd brake light fuse, had to replace the whole unit for $550.00.
  16. dla, beautiful truck. I do miss my 04 "shorty" at times. same stance, very fun little truck to drive with the 5.3.
  17. take it back and have them retighten (torque)the bolts that hold the seat. I had a loose bolt and it squeaked all the time. service manager tightened the bolts to spec and no more noise.
  18. call the toll free number in your owners manual. when you speak to a customer service agent, explain what is going on and that you wish to open a claim on your truck for reimbursement of he failed part. nothing will happen right away as far as money, but they will give you a claim number and a contact (probably the person you talk too) to see what gm will or can do for you. let the dealership know that you have opened a claim and pass on the number to your advisor. good luck!!!!
  19. open a claim with gm. you are not that far out of warranty. if you have all of the service records and work done available, that will help. they probably will not pay for the whole thing, but might help with some, or most of the cost. it is worth a shot, I have done this with a 99, a 2004 and a 2008. water pump, master cylinder/brake booster and a steering rack on two of them. only claim I have had denied complete was the large fuse box (I forget the name) under the hood on my 2008. 1 fuse bank (just 1 fuse slot) went out and it was for my third brake light.
  20. signatureseries54com21, factory 7's (22") look much better than the caddies.
  21. ejdziurka, the coolant level in my 2014 is at almost the exact same spot. one thing that I have noticed is the level in the overflow tank never moves, whether the truck is hot or cold. you can squeeze the top radiator hose when it is cold and make the coolant move in the tank, but when the engine is hot, the hose is very solid, no give at all.
  22. looks awesome. if you do not mind, how much were they? did you do the install, or the shop/dealer where you purchased them?
  23. DirtyMarcus, have you had any codes show up since using the range module? I had to take mine in to have them reset 4 times because it would trick the stabiltrak system and shut it off. error messages were "service brake assist" and "service stabiltrak".
  24. my truck had both the shark fin antenna fail along with the sunroof glass seal. antenna water leaks are around the sun visor and A pillar, sunroof water leaks will be right above your head by the Bluetooth microphone and edge of head liner opening above drivers head. but have also heard about leaking windshields, and even a faulty weld in the roof seam. good luck.
  25. depending on the age of the range module, that is not the problem. have the dealer take your battery out of the truck and bench test it. mine was sending a low voltage message every time I started the truck that would send "service brakes assist" and "service stabltrak" error messages and disable all traction control functions. zero codes were found for either message. dealer replaced the battery and every thing is fine again.
