  1. I’m interested in a set of these steps. My AT4 came with nothing and it’s a little high for the family. What are people’s impressions on the usefulness of these steps? Worth the money? Better options? I’m interested in convenience and functionality. Thanks.
  2. Lots of good info here. I read it all. I just picked up a 2021 AT4 6.2L. I have a couple neat things to add. 2021 now has wireless CarPlay and AndroidAuto. You can also add multiple phones to your user profile to receive calls on both without having to switch Bluetooth connections. Good for having personal and work phones. Question #1 on the reverse tilting mirrors - my 2015 Denali had this feature and you could adjust and store their position when in reverse. I can’t seem to do this on my 2021. It tilts to some random point that’s not helpful. I want to be able to see my rear tires. Anybody figure out how to adjust and store? Question #2 for Adaptive Cruise. Is there any way to adjust the following distance? It’s too far and people easily cut in front of me in traffic. My mom’s Audi Q7 lets you pick a following distance from close to far. Question #3 is there quick way to get to the surround camera besides going through the menus or switching to reverse? That would be helpful for pulling into tight parking spaces. Thanks for the info.
  3. Thanks for the info. I hope everybody gets their problems fixed "quickly."
  4. Are TrailBoss and AT4 owners experiencing this same problem? Or is it only on trucks with standard ride height? TB and AT4 have different CV shafts, right? I'm finally in the market for a new truck and have my eyes set on a new AT4. Just wondering if this is something I have to look forward to?
  5. I'm slightly confused... Is that the connector from the charger to the lid? Or from the lid to the console? I have a 2015 Denali (without wireless charging) and I'd like to simply buy a new 2018 lid to work with my new iPhone. Will a console lid swap require a new connector? Or was that only for swapping the charger within a current lid. Thanks.
  6. Exactly. A tech can read the stored code. Maybe it's an intermittent problem that they can address. Maybe there's a TSB on the problem and they can perform a SW update. Either way, I'd just take it in for a quick look. They'll probably find nothing, but this is one of those "better safe than sorry" situations.
  7. I'd worry about it. Bring it to your dealer and have them read the codes.
  8. I can't speak to the "MyChevrolet" app as I've never used it. I use the OnStar app. All of our trucks include a 5 year Basic OnStar plan. The basic plan includes route downloads (if you have in-dash nav). If yours doesn't work, contact OnStar. "The OnStar Basic Plan is available for up to 5 years from the original delivery date on new, eligible 2014a model year and newerb vehicles and is transferable; and for three years for new subscribers of eligible 2011 model year or newer, OnStar-equipped, pre-owned vehicles. Basic Plan includes Advanced Diagnosticsc, Dealer Maintenance Notification, and access to select mobile app featuresd. Basic Plan does not include emergency, security, or Turn-by-Turn Navigation, which require a paid subscription or add-on plan. Ability to send a destination to a vehicle’s in-dash navigation screen through a smartphone is available in Basic Plan for 2011 model year and newer vehicles with an embedded navigation system." Also, I'm not talking about downloading via WiFi. Mine uploads via phone service and downloads through the truck's OnStar phone line.
  9. Yes you do. I haven't had OnStar for nearly a year and a half and the OnStar app with maps still works. I can send the destination from my phone to my in-dash nav or to the DIC.
  10. I'd probably do that over spending $1000 for an upgrade, but to each their own.
  11. Your dealer should be able to hook you up. I'd call around and compare pricing. Some online places offer the same thing as well. All OEM components. I think it needs to be associated with your VIN. It's actual factory Navigation. Just like the $500 option on the other trucks. Because a smartphone isn't as clean looking as factory navigation. And the screen isn't as big. And many places are outlawing using your phone while driving, so you have to mount your phone someplace to use it. Kind of tacky looking. Does Android Auto or Apple Car Play display nav maps on the truck dash screen? That would be a good compromise. If you have factory navigation you can download destinations from the free OnStar app. The maps on there are more up to date than the fixed maps on the nav system. So that's kind of a way to bypass the out of date maps on your factory nav.
  12. OnStar does not give you navigation. It only gives you turn-by-turn instructions in the DIC (unless something has changed recently). Two totally different things. One requires OnStar subscription, one comes from the factory.
  13. I think GM will just sell you the OEM Navigation module for $500 if your truck came with the large screen. EDIT: I guess it's $995 from GM. If you have the larger screen (I assume you do on SLT), then you can just buy the Navigation upgrade from GM and don't have to go third party and risk problems with your warranty.
  14. Everybody knows that GMCs are faster. Duh!
  15. Wow. The whining is strong in this thread.
  16. OEM is definitely 100% better. OEMs hold their glass to much higher specs than some aftermarket brand. Safelite and others only have to meet the minimum requirements for safety and visibility. OEMs are much more stringent. You'll never find a wave, blur, or haze in OEM glass (at least you shouldn't) but I've seen imperfections in every aftermarket glass I've ever gotten. For only $300 more I'd definitely get OEM. Usually the $$$ difference is much larger than that. If it was the rear or side glass I might go aftermarket, but the front windshield is very important and complex.
  17. I like these on my Denali.
  18. I also much prefer the red lighting in the GMCs. I'm very upset that GM cheapened out and when with blue. The blue doesn't look bad, but the red looked better and it was a nice touch to differentiate Chevy and GMC. I'm betting the bean counters made this decision.
  19. I live in Texas and have three kids that ride in the back every day. The AC in these trucks cools the cab just fine. I have the Tstat set to Auto 69 Bi-Level and it cools down within just a few minutes and everybody is happy. The middle vents send plenty of air into the back of the cab. There's plenty of circulation.
  20. I'm not familiar with the All-Terrain X specifically, but I researched this for my wife's Colorado. The addition of the roll bar for the Colorado Trail Boss is a dealer installed package and the bar is just plug and play into the truck harness. You unplug the harness for the 3rd brake light and connect the roll bar in it's place. The dealership let me talk to their prep guys who did the work. I would guess that it's a similar situation with these trucks. You might call your dealer and ask to speak with their prep guys.
  21. Leave the picture. It's a reminder to everyone that we're not invincible.
  22. Doesn't Z71 also get stiffer/thicker stabilizer bar?
  23. One person's experience is not anecdotal evidence of anything. JDPowers and others gather data from millions of vehicles over many years. The trend is very clear - quality has increased steadily over time. My first vehicle was a 1994 Cheyenne w/ 4.3L - new transmission at roughly 100k miles. Also replaced the water pump and alternator twice each in under 150k miles. The seats tore. The dash cracked from Texas heat. The mirror fell off the window. Left door handle broke off. 1996 Silverado - rebuilt transmission twice within 175k miles. Piston slapping when cold forever. R&R intake manifold at 50k miles for leaking coolant. Timing chain replaced at 150k. Weak lifter for years. AC compressor at 30k miles. Same problems with water pumps and alternators - twice. Fuel pump at 125k. Both rear axle seals needed replacing at 125k. Cracked plastic all around interior. Rear side window wouldn't latch properly most of life and whistled at highway speeds. Both door handles also broke off - driver's twice. 2003 Yukon w/ 208k miles - no problems ever with transmission. Water pump and alternator once each. Fuel pump at 40k. TB Position sensor failed at 100k. AC compressor at 175k. One door lock relay failed. Instrument cluster failed. Otherwise trouble free for 13 years. I agree, stuff "should" last longer, and in general it is. But there will always be parts that fail prematurely. To blame it on foreign manufacturing is fictional.
  24. What era is that exactly? The same trend has been going on for decades - vehicle quality continuously improves, for the most part. The introduction of electronic gizmos over the last decade has slowed the trend, but vehicle quality is continuously improving. pm26's claims of lessened quality due to foreign parts sourcing is COMPLETELY unfounded. There is empirical data all of the internet that contradicts his claims. JDPowers is the easiest to find.
